2022 Calendar

2022 has dawned and we all hope it will be a better year than 2021 (and 2020 for that matter).  Here are the shows we know of, and we’ll update this page as the year goes on.  So far we’ve listed no fewer than 53 shows and events, a great sign that life is returning to normal.  Please check before travelling that the event is still taking place as Northern Brickworks takes no responsibility for events not taking place.

Saturday 5th February – The Brick Show
Venue: Christchurch C of E Primary School (BS16 5TG) –
This will be a small local show by GertLUG to raise money for a new school playground.

13th February 2022 – The London Brick Festival #3
Venue: Royal National Hotel

Wednesday 16th February – The Brick People at Cranleigh Arts
Venue: Cranleigh Arts Centre, 1 High Street, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8AS Open 10.00-16.30. Are you a fan of LEGO bricks? Ever wondered what it was like to build with thousands of bricks, surrounded by other official LEGO creations and custom builds by members of That Brick LUG! This event is for you! 19th February 2022 – The Redhill Brick and Model Show
Venue: St.Joseph’s Parish Hall, Ladbroke Road, Redhill, Surrey. Open 11.00-16.00.  Update 30th January – postponed to 6th August 2022.

Tuesday 22nd February – Fun with Brick Mosaics!
Venue: Whitchurch Silk Mill, 28 Winchester Street, Whitchurch RG28 7AL, 10.00-16.30. Come and enjoy the LEGO mosaic building fun, featuring a LEGO anagram trail throughout the museum, an open build brick area for creating anything you want, a selection of official LEGO sets on display, along with some custom-built creations by master builders.

26-27 February 2022 – Bricktastic
Bricktastic returns to the Manchester Central conference centre venue at the end of February. A Fairybricks show.

5th-6th March 2022 – The Reading Brick Show
Venue: Rivermead, Reading.
The LEGO® show will spark imagination, promote creativity and inspire everyone who walks through the doors. Featuring many interactive games and building opportunities.

Sunday 6th March – Bristol Comic Con
GertLUG will have a section of this brilliant event at Ashton Gate again after an excellent show last year. Marvel at the LEGO, marvel at the trade stands and marvel at the Marvel costumes. Marvellous!

Sat 12 March to Sun 13 March 2022 – National Space Centre
A Brickish show at the NSC in Leicester.

19th March 2022 – Plymouth Brick Festival
Open 10.00. A GertLUG event at Plymouth Guildhall, Plymouth.

26th March 2022 – Cobblers Brick Show
Venue: Caroline Chisholm School, Northampton

Saturday 2nd April, 10am – 3pm – Spring Brick
Venue: Merrist Wood College, Holly Lane, Worplesdon, Guildford, Surrey, GU3 3PE
An event featuring LEGO® bricks! In collaboration with That Brick LUG! Games & Challenges, Mosaic Building, Car building & racing, Contribute to the springtime build, 1000’s of loose LEGO bricks to use, a small selection of official and unofficial LEGO sets on display and a selection of rare & discontinued sets to purchase.

9 -10 April 2022 – Ware’s the Bricks
Free entry. Venue is Ware Priory Event & Conference Venue, open 11.00-16.00 both days.
Ware’s The Bricks is a 2 day LEGO fan festival in Ware Hertfordshire. Bringing some of the best amateur LEGO builders from around the country together to show their creations. All money raised by the event goes to the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

Sunday 10th April – TITANIC 110
Venue: SeaCity Museum, Civic Centre Havelock Road, Southampton, SO14 7FY, 10.00-17.00. Join us 110 years after Titanic set sail from Southampton to remember the stories and lives of those who sailed upon the Titanic at a very special event day. Around the museum, in partnership with The BRICK People, will be attractions and activities featuring LEGO bricks! Solve the “Under the Sea” anagram trail! Features builds from That Brick LUG! (LEGO User Group). Open build play area Official LEGO sets on display. A speed build competition, ability to buy rare and discontinued LEGO sets and a win a minifigure tombola! Small charges for drop in activities may apply.

30th April – 1st May 2022 – Discovery Brick Show
A Brick Alley event in Newcastle upon Tyne

Saturday 14th May 2022 – The Mossley Brick Show
Organised by NB member Valerie Lee and the Mossley Cancer Committee. Open 10.30-15.30. Venue is Mossley Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Mossley, Lancashire OL5 0EX (This is 4 1/2 miles from Junction 23 of the M60). The aim of the event is to raise funds for local charities and to attract younger support to our group.

14th May 2022 – Edinbrick
A TartanLUG event at Potterow, Edinburgh. Open 10.30-16.30.

14th – 15th May 2022 – Scottish National Scale Model Show
A TartanLUG event at the Dewar Centre in Perth.

Sunday 15th May 2022 – BRINGING THE BRICKS BACK
Join That Brick LUG at Denbies Wine Estate (previous home of James May’s LEGO house!) for activities including:
– House Brick Build – Build the same style of bricks used in James’ house
– Anagram trail activity
– LEGO and LEGO DUPLO play areas
– Chill and build with mosaics made out of LEGO

21st May 2022 – Milton Keynes Brick Festival
Open 10.00-17.00. A Brick Cental event, at the Ridgeway Centre, Wolverton Mill. The show will bring you BRAND NEW displays, loads of LEGO bricks, sets, minifigures & accessories for sale, and great range of FREE activities for both kids & “big kids” too!

28th/29th May – Avon Valley Brick Express
A two day GertLUG event returning once again to the lovely historic Avon Valley Railway near Willsbridge. Come see the LEGO and then enjoy the station and trains too!

May 28th to June 5th – Steambricks
An event at the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway which will feature an exhibition of brick built models, build pits and a variety of other activities.

5th June 2022 – Cheshunt Brick Festival
Open 10.00-17.00. Venue: The Laura Trott Leisure Centre, 44 Windmill Ln, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire EN8 9AJ. Adult admission £6.

11th June 2022 – The Retford Brick Show

Sunday 19th June – Calder Valley Brick Show

Sunday 26th June 2022 – Out on a Lymm brick show
Replacing the Lymm Historic Transport Day, Northern Brickworks return to Maple Lodge, Pepper Street, Lymm WA13 0JG for a one-day show.

Open 11.00 – 16.00, admission free.

2nd & 3rd July 2022 – Acton Depot Brick Show
At the London Transport Acton Depot. A London AFoLs event.  Open 10.00-16.00 both days.

9th July 2022 – Sale Brick Show
A Northern Brickworks event, watch this space for more info.  Provisional date.

July 9th – 10th – Mowbray Bricks
A Brickshire event. Venue is at a school and the show is justly famed for its quiz and its Saturday evening barbecue. Camping available in the grounds for hardy souls.

16th – 17th July 2022 – Brickmania
A TartanLUG event held in the atmospheric surroundings of the Peterhead Prison Museum.

23rd July 2022 – Oxford Brick Festival
Open 10.00-17.00. Venue: The Kings Centre, Osney Mead, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX2. Adult admission £6.

6th August 2022 – The Big Model & Hobby Show
The 2022 event will take place at Aintree Racecourse, in the Princess Royal Exhibition Hall, from 10am to 4pm

6th August 2022 – Redhill Brick & Model Show

17th September 20220 – Caterham show
A London AFoLs event. Venue: the Sacred Heart Centenary Hall, Essendene Road, Caterham, CR3 5PB. Public opening times: 10:30 – 16:30. Admission: Adult, £4; Child, £1. Running since 2016, a model show in Caterham, raising money for 5th Caterham, one of the local scout groups.

18th September 2022 – The London Brick Show

Sunday 25th September 2022 – Huddersfield Brick Show
Venue: St. Phillips Community Centre, just off J24 of the M62 (HD3 3NP). Open 11am-4pm. A Bricktopia event.  Update 12th May 2022: We understand that this planned event has been cancelled.

1st-2nd October 2022 – Steam
Brickish weekend at the Steam Museum in Swindon, Fire Fly Ave, Swindon, SN2 2TA.  Exhibitors will be members of the Brickish Association.

8th October 2022 – Bricklincs

8th & 9th Oct 2022 – Summerlee
A TartanLUG event at the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge. A very different venue with working trams, a mine, a big playpark and more!

22nd-23rd October 2022 – Sheffield Brickfest
Open 11:00-16:00. Venue: High Storrs School. A SLUG event.

5th-6th November 2022 – Shildon
A Brick Alley show in the excellent Locomotion Museum in Shildon, not quite the most Northerly venue on the calendar, but close!

19th-20th November 2022 – The Bristol Brick Show

A GertLUG event. The Bristol Pavilion, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, Nevil Road, Bishopston, Bristol, BS7 9EJ There will be over 70 displays built by Adult Fans of LEGO from across the country, ranging from our huge collaborative build called Pirate Cove, to Star Wars, LEGO train layouts and much more. There will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to get hands on with our play bricks, tombola and LEGO robot wars.

Monkey Bricks – Middleton

Due to circumstances beyond our control, this event has been cancelled.
