Meet Northern Brickworks Treasurer, Dr Thomas Newby bringing the TV show, West World to life! ðŸ¤
Here’s a little bit more about Thomas’ build!
What got you into building LEGO as an adult fan?Â
My friends wanted to play D&D and I thought I could do better than using the plastic models in the game and decided to use minifigures.Â
What’s the name of your build and what inspired it?Â
West World – inspired by the TV Show
Roughly how long did this display take to design and build?Â
I designed it using LEGO Stud.io. It took around 3 years to design as it was delayed by house moves. The build took around 3 months.Â
Is there a detail that people tend to miss?Â
The naked lady – nobody seems to spot her
What’s the biggest challenge in bringing this build together?Â
The space to test it all together.
What part of the display are you most proud of?Â
I am really proud of the saloon and the fords office, it was as accurate as i could make it.Â
Are you planning to display this anywhere else? If so, where can people see it next – or follow its journey online? Yes, I am planning on displaying this for the year. Rochdale and potentially North Notts.
What’s your next LEGO project after this one?Â
I’m planning on making Fringe The TV ShowÂ
Additional: If LEGO could make a new theme what would you want them to make?
More human scale items like everyday items. E.g. villains, icons, or a pocket watch.
