Members Spotlight – Emily

Meet Emily (@thebrickahres) bringing a magical Fabuland Crossing to life!

Here’s a little bit more about Emily and her colourful creation.

What got you into building LEGO as an adult fan?
I have always loved LEGO since a child, and my Mum would always buy me a LEGO set for Christmas. After one Christmas we spotted an advert for Bricktastic, and we decided to come along. From there we were hooked!

What’s the name of your build and what inspired it?
The name of my build is ‘Fabuland Crossing” I wanted to build something that was different from all the other displays I saw at shows. I wanted to make something colourful.

Roughly how long did this display take to design and build?
This build took around 6 months.

Is there a detail that people tend to miss?
People tend to miss the drunken panda at the train station and other stories.

What’s the biggest challenge in bringing this build together?
The hardest part was bringing in the train and the tunnel. It was hard to get the structure and for it to get moving.

What part of the display are you most proud of?
I’m really proud that the train moves.

Are you planning to display this anywhere else? If so, where can people see it next – or follow its journey online?
You can follow us on Instagram and TikTok (@thebrickhares).

What’s your next LEGO project after this one?
I’m not sure yet. I don’t know if to continue with the idea or go for something different.

Additional: If LEGO could make a new theme what would you want them to make?
I would love LEGO to expand the Mythica line or restart Fabuland.
