This LEGO interpretation of Girl with a Pearl Earring is my tribute to the power of art to transcend time, medium, and material. Johannes Vermeer created something incredibly delicate—soft light, quiet expression, and that iconic glance over the shoulder—and I wanted to see if those same qualities could live within LEGO.

It’s a challenge to recreate such subtlety with bricks, but that’s part of the joy. Every shade, every tiny shift in tone becomes crucial. The curve of the cheek, the glow of the pearl, the contrast between shadow and light—all built piece by piece in an attempt to echo Vermeer’s mastery.

World Art Appreciation Day feels like the perfect moment to reflect on how art connects us—not just to the past, but to each other. Reimagining a masterpiece like this is my way of stepping into that conversation, celebrating both the original and the endless possibilities of creative reinterpretation.
