Rob & Rachael (@middlingbricks / @sakura_bricks)
Meet Rob & Rachael bringing medieval magic with “Assault on Lion’s Hearth”. Together they built this amazing build over 12 months, and they have made sure to fill this castle scene with plenty of hidden stories.
Would you believe Bricktastic was their VERY FIRST show?! They shared that their biggest challenge was actually transporting the build to Manchester!
Here’s a little bit more about Rob & Rachael
What got you into building LEGO as an adult fan?
Rob – I have always been into LEGO since a child and it never left.
Rachael – I got into Lego from Rob
What’s the name of your build and what inspired it?
Assault on lions hearth: I loved castle as a child and enjoyed building it so I thought it would be cool to have a scene with everything in.
Roughly how long did this display take to design and build?
It took around 12 months.
Is there a detail that people tend to miss?
Rob – the joust scene
Rachael – The dwarven mine.
What’s the biggest challenge in bringing this build together?
It really was the transportation. We have never done a show before so it was a challenge working out how to break it down and pack it away.
What part of the display are you most proud of?
Rob – Wizard tower
Rachael – Barn (As this was what i designed myself)
Are you planning to display this anywhere else?
No, this was its only show.
What’s your next LEGO project after this one?
Rob – Star Wars / Clone Wars
Rachael – Botanicals and using the gardens.
Additional: If LEGO could make a new theme what would you want them to make.
Rob – I would love them to make game of thrones
Rachael – I would love Stardew valley.
