Nick’s artstyle is unique in that it’s all made from gear levers. Would you believe that this build took him only 6 weeks to create!
Here’s a little bit more about Nick!
Name: Nick Russell
What got you into building LEGO as an adult fan?
I got back into LEGO building after building the Friends Central Perk set. I really enjoyed building it and just carried on.
What’s the name of your build and what inspired it?
The name of my build is ‘Darth Maul Gear Lever Art”
Roughly how long did this display take to design and build?
It took me around 6 weeks.
Is there a detail that people tend to miss?
People think it is made out of string when really it is made from gear levers.
What’s the biggest challenge in bringing this build together?
The hardest part was getting the density just right. I wanted it to look smooth and blended and also have different colours.
What part of the display are you most proud of?
I’m so proud that I managed to get the colour density right, and that parts of the picture were dark enough like a picture.

What’s your next LEGO project after this one?
I really want to make a realistic photo.
Additional: If LEGO could make a new theme what would you want them to make?
I would love LEGO to do a mass effect set or series.
