Member Spotlight – Molly
Meet Molly (@m.brickingit) with her fantastic Chinese New Year Parade!
Molly has always loved LEGO. Whilst clearing out her wardrobe she found her old childhood LEGO box. She started building and never stopped.
Here’s a little bit more about Molly
What got you into building LEGO as an adult fan?
I always had LEGO as a child, but when I was clearing out my wardrobe I found my old box of LEGO that I had. I started building and playing and then I never stopped.
What’s the name of your build and what inspired it?
Chinese New Year Parade. I thought Bricktastic is in February so I wanted to make something Chinese New Year inspired.
Roughly how long did this display take to design and build?
It took around 2 months
Is there a detail that people tend to miss? I’m not sure as this is its first show.
What’s the biggest challenge in bringing this build together?
The challenge was making it look like an authentic Chinese high street.
What part of the display are you most proud of?
I am really proud of how the mountains look. I think they are really detailed and intricate.
Are you planning to display this anywhere else? If so, where can people see it next – or follow its journey online?
You can follow me on Instagram @m.bricking it
What’s your next LEGO project after this one?
I’m wanting to make something for my Simpsons minifigures or I am thinking about making a fairground.
Additional: If LEGO could make a new theme what would you want them to make?
I would love a proper giraffe minifigure but i would also love lego to make a proper hospital
